EXPLORATIONS OF SONIC PERCEPTION
A series of audio experiments exploring three dimensional auditory spaces. Research included recording speaker arrays with ambisonic and binaural microphones, binaural recordings of physical spaces and the creation of artificial 3D soundscapes.
In August 2017, I conducted various sound walks in Banff National Park and binaurally recorded a variety of natural spaces. This content is intended to act as research material for the impact of natural resonances on the human psyche. Once post-production on the raw audio is complete, I plan on conducting a series of user tests utilizing biometric technology for later integration with a variety of interactive artworks.
This research has been used in conjunction with the Psychoactive Music research project and has been used to create content for the LUCID installation.
